Dear Friends,
Feeling ANTsy?Maybe it’s because you are looking forward to the 17th Annual Sinterklaas with as much ANTicipation as we are!!! We bet by now you guessed it! The Honored Animal for 2023 is the ANT.WHY the ANT you ask ???
Well, it’s because this year is a celebration of US ALL and of what we have accomplished together.
Just like ANTS!!!
YES, Rhinebeck has created and sustained something special that 4 generations of kids have grown up on. Like us, ANTS can do the impossible—lift many times their own weight, help each other along the way, and make something big and beautiful that is so much greater than its parts. Along the way we take care of elders, our children, and everyone who comes to participate. We are a small, but mighty community working together.
And this year the AUNTIES (the older generation that has been running Sinterklaas for years) are being joined by a whole new generation of creators! We are calling these young ones the ChicatANTas (the Spanish word for Mexican leaf cutter ants!).
Now it’s time for you to play your part! Just like ANTS, we cannot do it alone, we need YOUR HELP! Whatever kind of ANT you are—acrobat, army, bullet, carpenter, cocktail, crazy, driver, fire, ghost, harvester, jumping jack, leaf cutter, pharoah, queen, thief, weaver or honey pot—come join the dANTce!
Myrmecophiles Unite! Please donate, volunteer, buy a star and spread the word. Now is the time to ANTE up and get everything started! Visit sinterklaashudsonvalley.com.
Join the ANTics now! We promise, it’s going to be fANTtastic!
We say THANK YOU! (and like good ANTS—get right back to work),
