| Arts Mid-Hudson is proud to announce its selection as one of 11 community partners across New York State participating in the inaugural phase of the Cultivating Havens for the Arts through Regional Murals (CHARM) program, a new initiative launched by Governor Kathy Hochul and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
As part of this statewide effort to advance public art, Arts Mid-Hudson will lead the development of three large-scale murals across the Mid-Hudson region, located in Millbrook (Dutchess County), Monroe (Orange County), and Pine Hill (Ulster County). These projects will bring together artists, community partners, and residents to celebrate local identity, activate public spaces, and strengthen regional pride.
Governor Hochul announced that the CHARM program will support 56 new murals across 21 counties, made possible through $1 million in state funding secured in the FY25 Enacted Budget. Public sites statewide include libraries, theaters, community centers, recreation spaces, and cultural destinations—each chosen to embrace art as a catalyst for connection, tourism, and civic engagement.
