Thank you for your resounding support of Starr Library in yesterday’s election! The new funding level was approved by just shy of 70%, testament to the strong belief in the vital contribution libraries make to our communities. In fact, all of this election’s library proposals in Dutchess County passed by wide margins! In an era that finds so many libraries around the country (including in NY) under attack by small but vocal opponents, your overwhelming support is a beacon of hope. We can’t begin to express how heartening it is when people show up to support libraries and library workers.
