Serino to Host County’s June ‘Honor-A-Veteran’
Ceremony in Town of Poughkeepsie
Mr. Turner was a decorated Air Force veteran who served courageously during the Korean War as an Airmanstationed in Tachikawa, Japan as a teletype and radio operator, earning him the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. After his military service, Airman Turner built a career with Western Union, where fate led him to Muriel, the love of his life and his devoted wife of 56 years. Together, they raised seven children and enjoyed 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The ceremony, which will take place at the American Legion Post 1302, located at 55 Overlook Road, Poughkeepsie, is a part of Dutchess County’s ongoing “Honor-A-Veteran” program, which includes monthly tributes to local veterans who have passed away, having served our nation with distinction.
