Serino to Host ‘Putting Your Skills Back to Work’ Older Adults Skills Fair
July 10th event to connect older adults with part-time employment, volunteer opportunities
On Thursday, July 10, from 2 to 4 p.m., Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino will host local older adults from around the county and dozens of businesses and local non-profit organizations for her “Putting Your Skills Back to Work” Older Adults Skills Fair at the Henry A. Wallace Visitor and Education Center at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park.
This free event will offer older adults in Dutchess County a chance to discover part-time jobs, volunteer roles and ways to stay active and connected in their community. A University of Michigan National Poll on Health Aging reports that working after 50 improves health and well-being for older adults, with more than two-thirds of those who work after 50 saying it boosts their physical health, mental health and/or their overall wellbeing.
Representatives from the media are cordially invited and encouraged to attend. Please confirm your attendance by calling (845) 486-2000 or email cpillus@dutchessny.gov.
