| Arts Mid-Hudson announces an exhibition of alcohol ink paintings by Linda Lavin at the Inn at Bellefield in Hyde Park, on view through January 2026.
For more than 40 years, Linda Lavin has called New York’s Hudson Valley home while remaining proud of her Vermont roots. Her vibrant alcohol ink paintings evoke the natural beauty that has surrounded her throughout her life. A lifelong creative spirit, Lavin began painting just over a decade ago and was quickly captivated by the luminous possibilities of color. Her semi-abstract images often echo impressionistic landscapes—alive with flow and movement. Working without brushes, she embraces the fluid, unpredictable techniques of alcohol ink on impervious surfaces such as tile, glass, and yupo paper, creating works that are both dynamic and distinctive.
Her award-winning pieces are collected across the country and are especially beloved in the Hudson Valley, where her work appears in homes, businesses, galleries, and boutiques. In addition to frequent exhibitions, Lavin welcomes visitors to explore her studio by appointment.
This exhibition is presented as part of a partnership between Arts Mid-Hudson and the Inn at Bellefield, featuring work by Arts Mid-Hudson member artists throughout the hotel. Artwork is rotated every six months and installed on the elevator landing areas of every floor, enhancing the hotel’s aesthetic with a regional flair that complements its historic and agricultural branding.
