CELEBRATE WITH FRIENDS OF THE WALKWAY

Each October, we mark the anniversary of the grand opening of Walkway Over the Hudson by celebrating the millions of special moments, lasting connections, and shared experiences made high atop the Hudson River since 2009.

On Friday, October 3 from 6-10 p.m., join us for Starry Starry Night – a perfect autumn evening beneath the stars at Upper Landing Park in Poughkeepsie.  Honorary chairs Kip Bleakley O’Neill, Elizabeth Waldstein and Sarah Johnstone Levine, along with event chairs Ed Bergstraesser and Shirley Rinaldi, invite you to enjoy an open-air culinary celebration featuring chef-crafted dishes from Main Course Catering expertly paired with regional wines, brews, and spirits. Live music, art, and surprise performances will create a dazzling, festival-like atmosphere as we gather in support of one of the Hudson Valley’s most iconic destinations.

This year, we are proud to honor Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law and the Struzzieri Family for their extraordinary contributions to the Walkway and our community. Their leadership and generosity have helped shape the Walkway’s success and continue to inspire our shared vision for the future.

As twilight falls, guests will ascend the Walkway’s glass elevator for exclusive after-hours access to the bridge and spectacular views high above the Hudson River. A brilliant fireworks display will cap off the evening in unforgettable fashion.

This is more than a celebration, it’s an evening to honor our community champions, uplift the mission of Friends of the Walkway, and invest in the future of one of the Hudson Valley’s most cherished landmarks.

STARRY STARRY NIGHT HONORS

Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law

Marty Rutberg, Larry Breslow, and the entire team at Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law are committed to ensuring that everyone can experience the magic of Walkway Over the Hudson. Their foundational support of Friends of the Walkway’s 11-passenger electric tram has doubled its weekly operating hours, enabling thousands of visitors – including seniors, families with young children, and individuals with mobility challenges – to enjoy a journey that might otherwise be out of reach.

Their generosity also made possible a first-of-its-kind partnership between Friends of the Walkway and VetZero, a program of Hudson River Housing, to employ local veterans as tram drivers when volunteers are unavailable, further strengthening the connection between accessibility and community impact.

For their steadfast belief in one of the founding principles of the Walkway – that everyone in the world deserves the chance to see our views – we are proud to honor Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law at Starry Starry Night.

The Struzzieri Family

For more than 40 years, the Struzzieri Family has championed the vitality and well-being of the Hudson Valley. Through their many business and philanthropic endeavors, they have consistently placed health, wellness, and family at the heart of everything they do.

In 2022, their values found a natural alignment with Friends of the Walkway when they became hosts of the Hudson Valley Marathon at Walkway Over the Hudson. Since then, the event has drawn thousands of runners from across the country each May, offering a fast, fun, and scenic experience that showcases the beauty of our region.

For their unwavering commitment to building a healthier Hudson Valley and for promoting our region through events that inspire movement and connection with the outdoors, we are proud to honor the Struzzieri Family at Starry Starry Night.
