• Sound Fundamentals: Learn the principles of sound and how to optimize recording devices and microphones for various setups.

• Microphone Techniques: Explore mic placement for dialogue capture and advanced techniques, including wireless solutions.

• Boom Operation: Practice effective boom handling for clean audio capture in complex scenes.

• On-Set Workflows: Understand the roles within the sound department and how to troubleshoot common issues in dynamic production environments.

• Group Project: Apply your knowledge by capturing and mixing audio for a short scene.

Pre-requisites: No prior sound experience is necessary. This workshop is open to anyone with a passion for storytelling through sound and a desire to develop technical expertise.

Registration Fee: $499 (full scholarships available for up to 10 trainees)

OUTCOMES: 

Participants will leave the workshop with a strong foundation in on-set sound recording and practical experience in capturing dialogue and environmental audio.

This program welcomes all community members and actively seeks participation from individuals from diverse backgrounds, women, and others historically underrepresented in the film industry.
