Aspiring young artists, creatives, and art enthusiasts—mark your calendars for Thursday, October 24th, 2024! Arts Mid-Hudson, in partnership with Dutchess BOCES, is proud to present THRIVE: Making a Career in the Arts, a free event designed to inspire and guide those looking to turn their passion for art into a successful career. From 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to connect with some of the Hudson Valley’s leading creative minds at Dutchess BOCES, located at 5 Boces Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. This is an opportunity for attendees to connect with prominent artists, musicians, educators, and media professionals, who will share their unique paths and strategies for success in the arts. In addition, attendees can engage with local organizations such as Arts Mid-Hudson, Empire Training Center for the Arts, Bridge Music/Tower Music, DCC Visual Arts Club, Gramuglia Music & Media LLC, The Art Effect, and En.J.Inn Arts, each offering resources and opportunities to help young artists grow and develop their creative careers.
Panel Highlights:
This event will feature a panel of distinguished professionals from a wide range of artistic disciplines, sharing their personal journeys and offering practical advice on how to thrive in the arts industry. The panel will feature a diverse array of accomplished creatives, including:
Joseph Bertolozzi – Renowned composer known for his public sound-art installations like “TowerMusic,” where he uses the Eiffel Tower itself as an instrument, and “Bridge Music” on New York’s Mid-Hudson Bridge. His work has reached audiences globally and been featured in top media outlets, including The New York Times and BBC.
Jessica Gramuglia – Founder of Gramuglia Music & Media LLC and music supervisor at Condé Nast, Jessica oversees global music needs for Condé Nast brands and brings over 15 years of experience in music supervision for film, television, and branded content.
Holly McCabe – A multimedia artist and Associate Professor of Visual Arts at Dutchess Community College, specializing in design, drawing, fashion illustration, animation, and motion graphics.
Adam Reid (Reidz) – Teaching artist and media programs manager at The Art Effect, with over 20 years in media production. He connects youth to filmmaking, photography, and creative expression, empowering them with life and workforce skills.
Trish Santini – Co-founder and Executive Director of Empire Training Center for the Arts, with previous roles at Little Island and the Guthrie Theater, offering a deep knowledge of arts administration and workforce development.
Daniela Dale Velez – Director of Institutional Giving at The Art Effect and artist at Wild Hudson Studio. Daniela is an accomplished fundraising professional with a passion for arts and social justice, securing grants from prestigious institutions like the Ford Foundation and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
