New Survival Lecture Series
Coming to Bowdoin Park in September
Have you ever wondered what you would do if you found yourself lost in the woods or during an emergency? Could you navigate your way to safety or find a safe place to stay and survive until rescuers arrived? Dutchess County Parks, in partnership with Mountain Scout Survival School, will host a FREE Survival Lecture Series in September, covering topics such as Wilderness Survival, Urban Emergency Preparedness and Navigation for all ages. Each lecture will be held from 7-8:30pm in the Community Center Auditorium at Bowdoin Park, located at 85 Sheafe Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie. Registration is not required.
Dutchess County Parks Naturalist Dave Beck said, “These programs will discuss the basics of wilderness survival, what to do in an emergency or disaster in a more urban setting, and how to navigate, no matter where you are. We are excited to partner with the experts at Mountain Scout Survival School to bring this new, free lecture series to survival enthusiasts of all ages, as well as those looking to be more prepared for any situation.”
