Mansion
Come celebrate the holiday season at Clermont! Explore the mansion at your own pace from 11 am – 4 pm. Take in the rooms, beautifully decorated for the holidays, and listen to live traditional music performed by Tamarack. Our knowledgeable guides, dressed in period costume, will be available throughout the house to answer any questions about the mansion, the Livingston family, or the people who lived and worked on the estate. Enjoy warm cider in the Visitor Center while you view our special exhibits “Spero Meliora: Life in The Land of Livingston” and “Redefining The Family: The Livingstons and the Institution of Slavery.”
This December, the mansion will be decorated with representations of the holiday traditions of both the Livingston family and the people who worked for them. A troupe of “Merry Monsters,” representing the winter holiday traditions of the people who worked at Clermont in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, will be on view through the new year. This is a fantastic opportunity to see the holiday decorations free of charge!
Please note: This event is free of charge, but visitors must register in advance.
